Surrey PhD student meets royalty!
Surrey University PhD student, Brenda Moita, made an excellent start to her three year project, with a visit to Moredun Research Institute. During her visit Brenda met with MRI’s Equine Grass Sickness Team, and visited the site of one of our longitudinal projects in Aberdeenshire.

We were delighted to introduce Brenda to some of our wonderful fundraisers, who have helped fund her project, and other researchers working on grass sickness research.
Brenda’s research focuses on equine grass sickness (EGS), a debilitating and sometimes fatal neurodegenerative disease affecting horses. Her project uses advanced proteomics and statistical analysis to find ways to detect the disease earlier and understand its progression better. Her PhD is joint-funded by the University of Surrey and the Moredun Research Institute.
